DC2 Morgan Happy Tongue Straight Swivel - 135

The Bombers DC2 Morgan Happy Tongue Straight Swivel Bit is designed to accommodate horses that benefit from a ported mouthpiece with reduced tongue pressure and an independently moving cheekpiece.

The solid, straight Happy Tongue mouthpiece features a port that creates space for the tongue. Unlike the curved Happy Tongue design, the straight port is not contoured, making correct fitting particularly important.

The DC2 cheekpiece has a fixed, outward-bent upper section designed to reduce potential pressure points on the cheek. Its sliding bridle ring softens poll action, while the independent rein loop offers two rein positions for adjusting the leverage effect.

This 135mm bit is suited to horses with a smaller mouth, provided the width and mouthpiece dimensions are appropriate for the individual horse.

FAQs

What is the Happy Tongue Straight Swivel bit designed to do?

Its ported mouthpiece is designed to provide space for the tongue, while the independent swivel action allows the mouthpiece and cheekpiece to move separately.

How does it differ from the curved Happy Tongue?

The straight version is not curved around the tongue. According to the supplied product information, this makes it slightly harsher than the curved version.

What does the lower rein loop do?

Using the lower loop introduces additional poll pressure and changes the leverage effect. Rein position should be selected carefully to suit the horse and rider.

How should the bit fit?

Bombers recommends fitting it tightly enough to prevent sideways movement of the mouthpiece and suggests using a bit strap. A qualified bit fitter can help confirm the correct fit and setup.

Are bit protectors included?

Yes. Orange bit protectors are supplied with the bit.
