Key Features
Top of the cheekpiece is fixed and bent out ward, reducing potential pressure points on the cheek, while the bridle ring will slip softening any poll action. The overall height has been decreased, making it suited to horses with a smaller mouth. The rein loop moves independently and has two rein options, the lower extra loop introduces some poll pressure.
The Happy Tongue Straight is a solid mouth bit which is ported to relieve tongue pressure but is not curved. This makes it slightly harsher than the curved Happy Tongue. The swivel mouthpiece can rotate on the horizontal, allowing the cheek piece to move independently, thereby the horse can set where it finds the mouthpiece most comfortable… removing tongue pressure.
Cheekpiece
Please ensure this bit is fitted tightly so there is no sideways movement of the mouthpiece, further to this point Bomber suggests using a bit strap. This cheekpiece was designed to work with a solid ported mouthpiece that swivels, so it can naturally adjust with the horses movements, maintaining a comfortable position.
Mouthpiece
The first choice for starting any young horse, it is easily accepted, it gives tongue relief, it’s light, non-metal and encourages salivation. If in doubt go with the Bombers suggested thickness for your width. The 4 available ports have been scaled according to each width. This ensures accurate fitting over the bars and eliminates the rocking movement which occurs when the port is too wide.
