Capstone Prolong Time 30kg

Capstone Prolong Time 30kg is a low-starch, low-glycaemic complete pelleted horse feed formulated to provide slow-release energy for breeding, growing, sport and maintenance horses.

The formula derives energy primarily from fats and highly digestible fibre, rather than relying heavily on cereal starch. It contains beet pulp and soya hulls as fibre-based energy sources, together with quality protein, amino acids, vitamins and organic trace minerals.

With an estimated digestible energy of 12 MJ/kg, Capstone Prolong Time provides a practical option for horses requiring a lower-starch feeding approach.

The feed can be used for sport horses, breeding stock, young growing horses and maintenance horses, with feeding levels adjusted according to workload, body condition, growth requirements and available forage.

Why Choose a Low-Starch Feed?

Capstone Prolong Time is designed around a lower-glycaemic feeding approach, with minimal energy derived from starch compared with conventional high-cereal feeds.

Its energy comes predominantly from fats and digestible fibre, providing a slower-release energy source that can be useful when managing the diet of horses that do not tolerate high-grain feeds.

The formula includes highly digestible fibre sources such as beet pulp and soya hulls, which contribute to the horse's overall fibre intake and digestive support.

Nutrient Analysis

Feeding Guide

Introduce gradually over 4–7 days.

Capstone Prolong Time should be fed alongside a minimum of 1% of bodyweight in quality roughage per day. For a 500kg horse, this equates to at least 5kg of hay or chaff.

General Daily Guidelines

These quantities are for horses with an expected mature body weight of approximately 500kg:

Adjust feeding according to the horse's expected mature weight, breed, body condition, growth rate, workload and available forage.

Maximum per meal: Do not feed more than 2kg per single feed.

If a horse performs well on an intake below the recommended levels, the manufacturer recommends topping up vitamin and mineral intake with Capstone Life Time Balancer Pellet. The supplied guideline is 250g Capstone Life Time Balancer per 1kg of Capstone Prolong Time not fed.

During periods of heavy sweating, the manufacturer recommends supplementation with a quality electrolyte such as Capstone Horse Electrolyte.

No additional grains or supplements are required unless advised by a veterinarian or qualified nutritionist.
