Giant Horse Treat Ball - Blue

The Giant Horse Treat Ball – Blue is an interactive equine feeding and enrichment toy designed to keep horses occupied while encouraging natural foraging behaviour, movement and slower access to food.

Featuring multiple feeding holes, the large ball can be filled with suitable horse treats, pellets or forage, depending on the size and type of feed being used. As the horse nudges, pushes and rolls the ball, food is gradually made accessible, turning feeding time into an engaging activity.

Interactive Equine Enrichment

Horses naturally spend considerable time moving and searching for food.

The Giant Horse Treat Ball introduces an interactive element to feeding by requiring the horse to nudge and move the ball to access its contents.

This can provide useful environmental enrichment, particularly for horses spending extended periods in a stable or restricted turnout environment.

Encourages Movement & Foraging

Rather than receiving treats or suitable feed directly from a bucket, the horse must interact with the ball to access the contents.

The rolling movement encourages the horse to move around, investigate and forage, providing both physical activity and mental engagement.

FAQs

What is the Giant Horse Treat Ball used for?
It is an interactive feeding and enrichment toy that encourages a horse to move and forage to access treats or suitable feed.

How does it work?
Fill the ball with appropriate treats, pellets or forage. As the horse nudges and rolls it, food becomes accessible through the feeding holes.

Can it help slow down feeding?
When used with appropriate feed, the multiple openings can make the horse work progressively for the contents rather than receiving everything at once. It should not be relied upon as the horse's only slow-feeding system.

Can I put hay inside it?
The supplied product information describes it as suitable for hay or forage. The suitability of particular forage will depend on the size of the feeding holes, which has not been supplied.

Can it be used in a stable?
Yes, provided there is sufficient safe space for the horse to move the ball around without it becoming trapped or creating a hazard.

Can it be used outside?
Yes. It can be used in an appropriate paddock or turnout area.

Safety & Use

Introduce the ball under supervision and observe how your horse interacts with it before leaving it for longer periods.

Use only in an area with sufficient clear space and remove it if it becomes damaged. Regularly inspect the ball for cracks, sharp edges or excessive wear.

Feed and treats used inside the ball should form part of the horse's normal daily dietary allowance where appropriate.
